Legislative Priorities for the 82nd Legislative Session

Attached is a copy of the Legislative Priorities for the 82nd Legislative Session. WE MUST MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL SESSION FOR THE VETERANS IN TEXAS. A major stumbling block is a shortage of money and one area that usually takes a big toll when there is a shortfall is veterans issues and funding for veterans. Please share these priorities with your Vice Commander, Adjutant, and Legislative Committee Person. Please make sure your appointed Legislative Person will be attending the Legislative Breakfast on, Thursday, January 20, 2011. We will meet in the Lobby of the SouthPark Omni Hotel about 6:00 AM and then go to the basement of the State Capitol and meet in the "Capitol Grill"

Make sure that you and other District Officers as well as your appointed Legislative Committee Person personally calls every State Representative and State Senator in your District and urge them and members of their staff to attend the Breakfast. The more people in their District that call and urges them to attend the better the chance they will attend.

This is the time for veterans to let the elected officials know what the veterans of Texas want and need. I also allows them time to ask questions and tell you of items that are important to them. You support them, they will support us.

This is very important:

PLEASE HAVE PEOPLE CALL THE ELECTED OFFICALS IN YOUR DISTRICT TO ATTEND THE BREAKFAST and PLEASE HAVE VETERANS FROM YOUR DISTRICT ATTEND THE BREAKFAST!!!!!

See you there;
State Legislative Chairman
The American Legion, Department of Texas
