Fund For Veterans Assistance

The following is for your information and distribution to your members.

The Fund For Veterans Assistance (FVA) was created by the 79th Legislature.  The FVA awards reimbursement grants in two categories directly to organizations: General Assistance Grants and Housing4TexasHeroes. Both categories offer funding to non-profit and local government organizations which in turn, provide direct services to Texas Veterans and their families.

Since FVA inception in 2009, FVA has
  • Awarded $23.8 million in Texas
  • Awarded 94 grants to 74 organizations
  • Benefitted 137,266 Texas veterans

The largest source of revenue for FVA is the Veterans Cash Lottery Scratch-Off Game contributing ~$20.5 million to FVA.  The Veterans Cash Game was created three years ago on Veterans Day.  Very well received and supported in the early months and years, participation the the Veterans Cash Game has diminished considerably recently.  FVA needs the support of every Veteran Service Organization and veteran in Texas to continue helping our less fortunate brother and sister veterans.

The websites at the bottom of this email show where proceeds from FVA have gone, and the veterans who have benefited from FVA.  Please distribute this email to your members and encourage them to support FVA by participating in the Veterans Cash Lottery Scratch-Off Game.
